Operators are increasingly making use of biodiesel in fueling fleet vehicles. Whilst biodiesel offers benefits in reducing fuel costs and lowering harmful emissions it can also promote bacterial contamination problems.
Bacterial contamination can clog-up and eventually block fuel systems. This can result in lower fuel efficiency, reduced engine performance and ultimately, costly engine repairs.
Millers Oils has developed two specialist versions of Eclipse™ specifically to help remove and prevent the threat of bacterial contamination when using biodiesel: |

| Millers Oils Eclipse™ Powercide Plus provides all of the benefits of Eclipse™ while additionally providing constant protection against bacterial contamination of fuel and fuel systems. |

| Millers Oils Eclipse™ Shock Dose should be used where bacterial contamination of the fuel and fuel system has already occurred. Shock Dose will help eradicate the problem and when it has been cleared, Eclipse™ Powercide Plus should be added to the fuel to offer continued protection against further contamination. |

Biodiesel makes fuel and fuel systems vunerable to biological contamination which can clog-up and eventually block fuel systems. Image below shows fillter biological contamination after Biodiesel use.
It is also important to note that when using Biodiesel - fuel dilution is more likely to occur. Oil drain intervals should be halved and oil sampling should be more frequent. Image below shows catastrophic failure caused by Biodiesel use without adjusting maintenance intervals and using compatible lubricants.
