Dri-Coat Ultra also has the key advantage of longevity. Monitored site trials have proven that the product provides between five and ten times longer lubrication intervals than its nearest competitors. This can significantly reduce a company’s outlay on lubrication products and maintenance costs.
THE PROBLEM
Food manufacturers using high temperature conveyors during the production process often face regular maintenance downtime in production cycles due to deposits baking onto the chains of food processing and bakery machinery. Most commercially available chain lubricants degrade to form either carbonised deposits or lacquers, or, caked, hardened graphite build up.
The issue for manufacturers is to obtain a cost-effective solution which can meet all of the individual lubrication challenges posed by the use of conveyors and chains running at high temperatures, and at the same time eliminate the costly downtime and cleaning routines associated with the use of inferior lubricants.
THE SOLUTION
Millers Oils high performance lubricant, Dri-coat Ultra WR220 (DCU) is specially designed to overcome these problems.
Dri-Coat Ultra is a suspension of high load carrying lubricating solids, dispersed in a synthetic fluid carrier, which when applied, penetrates the chain bearings and conveyor linkages, carrying with it the lubricating solids.
At low and ambient temperature the product acts as a high load carrying conventional liquid lubricant, while at high temperatures the fluid carrier gradually ‘evaporates’ leaving behind the load carrying white lubricating solids. The carrier fluid ‘burns off’ cleanly and thus eliminates carbon and varnish deposits, even at temperatures well in excess of 400°C.
DCU has been designed and proven to be more effective than leading brand polyol esters, graphited polyglycols and PFPE/PTFE based lubricants on the market, and in common use. Comparative ambient and high temperature wear testing has shown that DCU has a much higher load carrying capability than ester or graphite based products and performs as well as the most expensive perfluoropolyether/polytetrafluoroethylene (PFPE/PTFE) based lubricants. It’s coefficient of friction is significantly better than graphite or esters and is comparable to PFPE/PTFE. Reduced friction affords energy savings and increases chain life. Overall maintenance costs are reduced and machinery downtime is significantly decreased.
DCU continues to function at extremely high temperatures well in excess of 400°C allowing increased chain speeds, reducing cooking times and increased output.
Dri-coat Ultra WR220 is a highly effective, cost saving solution for the modern food manufacturer.
